unlucky-ch4rms-deactivated20131 asked: How long would you recommend ear stretching after a blowout? My goal is 12mm(1/2") and I had a small blowout when I put my 10mm in. I did put it in too soon after having the 8mm in so it is my fault. Its scabbing over fine, but I'm not sure. Help?
I’ve never had a blowout, so my advice may not be the best, but I’ve slightly ripped my ear a long time ago, stretching to 4g. Best thing to do is WAIT. Wait until your ear completely heals before stretching again. I’d recommend getting some kind of oil, jojoba oil or something else, and massage your earlobes everyday.
Also, I’m guessing since you got a blowout, that you’re using tapers to stretch? After 0g is when you should stop using tapers and start doing the taping method. It’s sooo much better for your ears, especially at the larger sizes. Buy some PTFE tape (basically plumber’s tape) and wrap it around your plugs (two or three times) every few days, until you gradually get to the next size. It takes longer, but it’s much better for your ears! Stretching from 1/2 to 5/8, using the taping method, took me about two months. If you’re too impatient, do the taping method at least halfway to the next size and stretch the rest with a taper.
I hope this helped! :)1 notes / 1 month ago / reblog
